What's On At The Bellarine Show
|
Preparations are in full swing for the 23rd Annual Bellarine Agricultural Show, to be held at the Portarlington Recreation Reserve on Sunday 10th March, 2013 (Labour Day long weekend) from 9am.
Entries are invited for Horses, Cattle (Beef and Dairy), Pigeons and Poultry, Cookery, Flowers, Floral Design, Pot Plants and Produce, China Painting, Handcrafts, Home Brew, Vintage, Art and Photography, Dog Jumping, Pets Competitions and Skate Competition sections. Most sections have categories for juniors, including the popular Schools section covering handcrafts, novelties and artistic pursuits. The vintage section has expanded this year to include a tractor trek and competitions such as the Plumb-Bob, testing the skill of man and machine. Interactive displays of vintage motorbikes, cars, trucks and farm machinery will also be on show.
The Bellarine Agricultural Show provides an important forum for the rural community to gather together to showcase their wares, share their skills and educate the wider community. A good example of this is the extensive array of produce, art and handcrafts on display throughout the pavilions, also various demonstrations on offer from sheep-shearing to lace-making.
The Bellarine Agricultural Society takes this opportunity to thanks its supporters and sponsors, and looks forward to joining you to celebrate the pursuits and achievements of our rural community.
